My work

I am a storyteller, with pictures. I love meeting new people and making photographs that offer a glimpse into who someone is, rather than simply showing how someone looks.

I have a background in photojournalism with a master’s degree from the University of Missouri. Right now, I’m a photographer at Minnesota Public Radio News, and before that I spent six years as a photographer and picture editor at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. People often tell me I have a great job, and I completely agree. I find real joy in responding to the world visually. With my camera, I can indulge my curiosity about the world around me and then share what I experience, in ways that are interesting, inspiring or beautiful.

While photographing your wedding I am friendly and approachable, yet unobtrusive, putting you at ease in front of the camera. I know how to be in the right place at the right time to capture the great emotional moments of your day. From beautiful portraits and meaningful details to the joyful fun during the reception, my photographs will allow you to relive one of the most important days of your life as it truly unfolded.

A bit about me

When I am not making pictures, I enjoy early morning runs around the Minneapolis lakes; weekend trips to the farmers market; and spending time with my husband and best friend Ken. It’s fun to get lost in a well-written story that keeps me up beyond bedtime or immerse myself in a new knitting or spinning project. I love to cook, bake and garden, and I’m on the board at the Linden Hills Co-op. I share my home with a sweet, old pug named Sasha and an awesome cat named Wilson. And although I love the snow, I dream of living on the ocean in Hawaii.
